About the Opportunity


A growing Marine Technology manufacturer is expanding its defense business and is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to establish, lead, and manage the company's National Industrial Security Program (NISP) as it continues to grow its classified government contracting operations.


This is a high-impact opportunity to build and oversee the company's Facility Security Clearance (FCL) program while serving as the primary security liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), RTX (Raytheon), and other government stakeholders. You'll play a critical role in ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) while supporting innovative defense engineering programs.


The ideal candidate has previous experience as a Facility Security Officer at a cleared defense contractor. Strong Assistant Facility Security Officers (AFSOs) with hands-on experience managing industrial security programs are also encouraged to apply.


What You'll Do


  • Establish, administer, and maintain the company's Facility Security Clearance (FCL) program in accordance with NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117)
  • Serve as the primary liaison with DCSA, RTX (Raytheon), and other government agencies
  • Manage personnel security clearances, including initiation, tracking, eligibility verification, and visit authorizations
  • Oversee the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and ensure ongoing compliance with federal security requirements
  • Administer the company's Insider Threat Program while serving as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO)
  • Develop and maintain security policies, Standard Practice Procedures (SPPs), and classified information handling processes
  • Conduct security briefings, annual refresher training, foreign travel briefings, and security awareness programs
  • Prepare for and lead DCSA security reviews, audits, and corrective action initiatives
  • Maintain security records and government systems including NISS and DISS
  • Review DD Form 254s and administer DD Form 441 security agreement requirements
  • Coordinate with internal teams on export compliance, ITAR/EAR requirements, CUI initiatives, and evolving cybersecurity programs
  • Provide guidance on classified information handling, safeguarding procedures, and security best practices


What You Bring


  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (required)
  • U.S. Citizenship (required)
  • Previous experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or strong Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO)
  • Experience managing Facility Security Clearance (FCL) programs and personnel security clearances
  • Strong knowledge of NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), DCSA requirements, DD Form 254, DD Form 441, NISS, and DISS
  • Experience serving as the primary point of contact with DCSA and government security agencies
  • Ability to manage security training, insider threat programs, classified information procedures, and compliance audits
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret federal security regulations
  • Experience supporting defense contractors, government programs, or prime contractors such as RTX is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, CUI, NIST SP 800-171, and CMMC is a plus
