Job description

Responsibilities
Peraton is looking for a dynamic, well organized, and highly motivated individual with prior relevant experience to serve as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) to ensure full-scope program support and compliance in Woodbridge, and Basking Ridge, NJ locations. The FSO will be responsible for ensuring the company's adherence to policies, practices, and procedures of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Special Access Program (SAP) manual and for implementing the policies, practices, and procedures contained within. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide oversight of the processing of new employee security clearances including tracking within Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS)
  • Oversight of SAP to include support development, review, and maintenance of program security documentation for SAP programs
  • Administers a Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) area and responds to after-hours alarms and emergency conditions
  • Oversight and administration for a comprehensive security education, training, and awareness programs for cleared employees to include conducting Initial Security Briefings, Security Classification Program Briefings, Refresher Training, and Debriefings
  • Conduct periodic Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other government agency self-inspections on the security posture of the company to determine performance and cost effectiveness and advise management of any deficiencies and recommendations
  • Communicate security procedures to employees and subcontractors, and provide guidance and assistance to project managers and staff in meeting security requirements
  • Maintain all security documentation and files accurately for document control, visitor control, and personnel security using SIMS and in accordance with requirements
  • Responsible for the preparation, management, and interfacing with DCSA
  • Knowledge of Communication Security (COMSEC) and of COMSEC Account Custodian of keying material for communication devices to include the use of DIAS is a plus
  • Investigate and review security violations, preparing reports, and recommending specific preventive and corrective action to be taken

Qualifications
  • Requires 5+ years with BS/BA or 3 years with MS/MA
  • 9+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Required: Top Secret clearance
  • Must have experience with DOD processes and procedures or an equivalent regulatory environment and/or military training.
  • Must have a complete understanding of NISPOM, DoD Security Manuals, COMSEC, and SAP manuals.
  • Must possess the ability to identify issues and develop solutions to a variety of problems.
  • Strong communication, computer, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to initiate and plan projects and analyze and interpret data.
  • The ability to produce appropriate clear, concise and detailed documentation.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency with NISS, DISS, NBIS, JADE
  • Completion of FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Curriculum
  • Industrial Security Professional (ISP®) Certification a plus.
  • SIMS database experience preferred.

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
