Job description

Schylling is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Intellectual Property & Legal Coordination Manager to oversee and coordinate the companyโ€™s intellectual property protection efforts and legal support activities. This role will serve as the central point of contact between Schylling, outside counsel, investigators, online enforcement vendors, and internal teams to help protect the companyโ€™s brands, trademarks, copyrights, and products from infringement and counterfeiting. The ideal candidate is proactive, persistent, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple ongoing legal and enforcement matters simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:
Intellectual Property Management:
  • Coordinate all trademark, copyright, and patent filings with outside legal counsel.
  • Track deadlines, renewals, registrations, and submissions related to trademarks, copyrights, and other IP assets.
  • Organize and maintain IP records, filing documentation, and legal correspondence.
  • Prepare and submit required materials and follow-up information to attorneys in a timely manner.
  • Monitor status of pending filings and ensure proper follow-through on all open matters.

Counterfeit & Brand Protection Enforcement:
  • Monitor marketplaces, websites, social media platforms, and retail channels for counterfeit or infringing products.
  • Coordinate with outside investigators, online surveillance vendors, and enforcement partners.ย 
  • Gather evidence and documentation related to counterfeit activity.
  • Submit takedown requests and coordinate enforcement actions with appropriate platforms and legal resources.
  • Track counterfeit cases from discovery through resolution.
  • Maintain logs and reporting related to infringement activity and enforcement outcomes.

Legal & Vendor Coordination:
  • Serve as liaison between Schylling and outside law firms, investigators, and enforcement agencies.
  • Coordinate meetings, status updates, and ongoing communication with external legal resources.
  • Help prioritize legal matters and ensure timely responses from all parties.
  • Track invoices, legal spend, and vendor activity where needed.
  • Assist with general legal administrative coordination and documentation management.

Reporting & Organization:
  • Create and maintain tracking systems for IP filings, enforcement actions, investigations, and legal matters.
  • Provide regular status reports and updates to company leadership.
  • Ensure all records and documentation are accurate, organized, and accessible.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in intellectual property coordination, legal administration, brand protection, compliance, or related fields.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associateโ€™s or bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Experience working with trademarks, copyrights, counterfeit enforcement, or online brand protection preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on details.
  • Comfortable working with outside attorneys, investigators, and third-party vendors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and tracking/database systems.
  • Experience with marketplace enforcement platforms (Amazon, Walmart, Alibaba, etc.) is a plus.

The base range is $95,0000 to $105,000 annually. Offered base compensation within this range will be determined based on a candidateโ€™s qualifications, experience, geographic location and other factors relevant to the scope and responsibilities of this role.
