Job Description

The Counter Sales Associate deals directly with our customers on a daily basis to ensure they have a positive experience. As a member of the branch team, this will primarily be accomplished through the selling of HVAC products, taking customer orders, following up on existing orders, and looking up and ordering parts while providing excellent customer service. This position will regularly be asked to support other branch activities to ensure its success. This will include, but is not limited to, helping with warehouse duties such as loading/unloading deliveries, picking materials for next-day orders, and assisting in the receiving and restocking of parts/products. This may involve using a forklift, inventory management, safety, and other duties as required.

We are seeking a friendly and empathetic Counter Sales Associate to join our team in Tigard, Oregon. As a Counter Sales Associate, you will be the first point of contact for our valued customers, providing exceptional support and ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services.

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat in a timely and professional manner.
  • Listen actively to customer concerns and provide appropriate solutions or escalate issues when necessary.
  • Process orders and returns accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, services, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve complex customer issues.
  • Document customer interactions and maintain accurate records in our CRM system.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Assist in training new team members and sharing best practices.
  • Assist with warehouse duties (this is approximately 20-30% of the time):
    • Loading/unloading deliveries
    • Picking materials for next-day orders
    • Assisting in the receiving and restocking of parts/products
    • Operating a forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack
    • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
  • Manage inventory.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (associate degree in a related field preferred).
  • Knowledge and understanding of HVAC equipment and parts (preferred).
  • Previous customer service experience (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong active listening and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, including CRM software, Microsoft Office suite, Workday, CSD, Navigator, Kronos, and the AHRI certification directory.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Patient and empathetic approach to customer interactions.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude.
  • Multilingual skills (Spanish or Russian) would be very helpful but not at all required.
