To thrive as a Counter Helper, you need strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and basic math abilities, usually supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash registers, and food handling procedures is often required. Excellent communication, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to multitask under pressure are important soft skills for this role. These skills ensure efficient service, customer satisfaction, and smooth operations in fast-paced retail or food service environments.
