Job description

Cargo Agent duties include any one or a combination of duties include the loading and unloading of cargo and mail
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
โ€ข Routes inbound and outbound air freight shipments to their destinations.
โ€ข Receives counter orders from customers and arranges for pickup of freight and delivery to loading platform.
โ€ข Assembles cargo according to destination.
โ€ข Weighs items and determines cost, using establish tariffs.
โ€ข Direct or participate in cargo loading in order to ensure completeness of load and even distribution of weight.
โ€ข Itemizes charges, prepares freight bills, accepts payments, and issues refunds.
โ€ข Prepares manifest to accompany shipments.
โ€ข Adhere to required security procedures and hazardous material handling requirements.
โ€ข Unloads inbound freight and notifies consignees on arrival of shipments and arranges for delivery to consignees.
โ€ข Perform operations in conjunction with the loading and unloading of mail.
โ€ข Able to scan and assemble mail according to destination.
โ€ข Adhere to required security procedures at Air Cargo and with equipment handling.
โ€ข Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
REQUIREMENTS
โ€ข High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
โ€ข The ability to lift
โ€ข Must be able to qualify and obtain a U.S. Customs and Border Protection seal.
โ€ข Possess a valid driverโ€™s license
โ€ข Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment and is detail oriented.
โ€ข Available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
โ€ข Basic typing and computer skills are required.
โ€ข Ability to perform basic math calculations.
โ€ข Good communication skills.

COMPENSATION

This position starts at $20.00 per hour
