About the Role

Our trim, notion, and button department is one of the most extensive in the industry: think bone, mother-of-pearl, hand-cast metal, and rhinestone buttons; feather boas and chantilly lace; grosgrain, petersham, and velvet ribbons; snaps, closures, and every notion in between.

As a Trim & Notion& Button Sales Associate you'll be the go-to person who helps a garment go from "almost done" to “finished”— matching the perfect button, trim, or closure to a couture jacket, a cosplay build, a wedding gown, or someone's first-ever sewing project. You'll use your knowledge of sewing, garment construction, fashion, or costume design to help customers find the right materials and creative solutions.


Commission Opportunity: Associates who meet and surpass monthly quotas earn commission from their sales.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Help shoppers navigate our full range of buttons, trims, and notions to find the right fit for their project, fabric, and budget
  • Apply your knowledge of sewing, garment construction, and textiles to offer thoughtful, creative solutions
  • Identify needs and suggest complementary products, helping people discover options they hadn't considered
  • Cultivate long-term customer relationships and serve as a trusted resource for their ongoing projects and sourcing needs
  • Handle phone and email inquiries and orders with accuracy, enthusiasm, and attention to detail
  • Stay curious and keep growing your expertise in this ever-expanding corner of the sewing world


What We're Looking For

  • A genuine interest in sewing, fashion, costuming, or crafting
    1-2 years of experience working with trim, notion, button or related fashion materials
    Strong customer-service and relationship building skills
    A collaborative, positive, and welcoming approach while working with customers and the team
    Ability to learn quickly and confidently recommend products based on customers' needs
