Job description

Position: Flight Paramedic

Dept: CareFlight Air & Mobile Services

Shift: Full Time 7pm - 7:30am / 72 Hours per Pay

Facility: Miami Valley Hospital

The Flight Paramedic functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence. The Flight Paramedic provides advanced emergency/critical are in conjunction with a CareFlight Nurse during transport. The Flight Paramedic utilizes evidence-based principles to provide safe and rapid transport of critically ill or injured patients by air ambulance or mobile intensive care to a higher-level medical treatment facility.  The Flight Paramedic provides advanced emergency/critical care during medical transport and may also provide care within their scope of practice throughout Premier Health.  This position also includes public relations and medical education functions.

Education: High School completion / GED.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: 

  Paramedic in the State of OhioParamedic in the State of Ohio

  The following certifications are required at the time of hire:

  BLS, ACLS and PALS

  The following certifications are required within the specified timeframe following hire:

   90 Days- ITLS or PHTLS

  1 Year - NRP, ATLS (audit)

  2 Years - CAMTS approved professional certification

Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years of Paramedic experience with transport experience required. Preferred to have recent full-time active experience with 911 Emergency Service Agency or MICU Transport Company
