Job description

DESCRIPTION
The position is located in the imaging department of the medical clinics and reports directly to the Imaging Manager for all matters, including job duties, performance evaluations, approval of leave, and other assignments as deemed necessary for the benefit of the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic (BROC). Provides comprehensive x-ray services through the safe and orderly operation of the clinics diagnostic x-ray equipment. Treats patients in a caring, warm, and professional manner.
Duties:
Performs all functions necessary to produce diagnostic quality x-ray images.
Prepares x-ray equipment for daily use.
Correctly positions patients to minimize discomfort, while obtaining the best image in accordance with physician protocols.
Maintains an inventory of supplies to perform x-rays.
Maintains equipment and immediately reports equipment problems or down-time to the Imaging Manager.
Calls service personnel as necessary.
Keeps department and equipment clean and secure.
Takes all precautionary and preventative measures to guard against radiation hazards to self, patients, and other employees. Wears and maintains radiation dosage measuring device at all times.
Performs other related duties as assigned and serves in whatever other capacity deemed necessary for successful completion of the mission and goals of BROC.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, with professional certification from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the State of Louisiana required.
  • Reliable form of transportation to work daily
  • Ability to learn computerized medical office work

At the Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic our goal is to provide a seamless continuum of health care services to maximize patients outcomes and convenience. We offer an organized and coordinated continuum to provide better and timelier feedback between the patient, physician, and ancillary services provider. Our main campus is located on Bluebonnet, but we have various clinics and therapies across the state of Louisiana as well as the BROC foundation that supports local schools and athletic programs by providing services throughout various communities.
