Description:

RIB U.S. COST is seeking Construction Cost Estimators to join our Miami team. In this role, you will prepare and coordinate detailed cost estimates across all project phases while ensuring alignment with client objectives, budgets, and design requirements. We are looking for candidates with experience in one or more major disciplines, including general construction, architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or environmental. We are a leader in providing project controls related services across all verticals within the construction and EPC/M industry.


Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate with a team of estimators who are qualified to perform capital cost estimating.
  • Prepare cost estimates across all project stages from concept, SD, DD, CD to change order estimates.
  • Prepare material takeoffs on complex projects, drawings, and plans.
  • Provide detailed breakdown of components and elements for estimates for systems and subsystems.
  • Assign material, equipment, subsystem, and subcontractor costs and labor costs to the estimate takeoff and quantification.
  • Obtain quotes for materials and services from vendors and suppliers
  • Apply cost escalations based on project schedules
  • Conduct bid cost analyses
  • Participate in client review and presentation meetings as required
  • Provide a comparative analysis between estimate submissions and respond to estimate comments
  • Adhere to all policies related to the handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
  • Perform miscellaneous other job-related duties when assigned


Requirements:

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Prior work experience as a cost estimator on large, complex buildings, infrastructure or aviation projects required
  • Ability to develop cost estimates at multiple phases from design through construction
  • Have a clear understanding of and ability to work with architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience specific to mechanical, electrical, or civil disciplines highly desired
  • Experience working for a contractor during the construction phase of a project is strongly desired
  • Proficient in computer skills including MS OFFICE suite and cost estimating software
  • Excellent oral and effective written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and clients
  • This position requires daily in-office presence.
