Job description

Responsibilities
The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in south Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems.

Position Summary

Seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support operations, primarily covering weekend day shifts with occasional weekday availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medication Distribution & Automated Systems: Conduct routine rounds of hospital medication rooms and restock Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs).
  • Packaging & Inventory Management: Repackage unit-dose medications, manage pharmacy inventory (including expiration tracking and patient-owned medications), and support ordering processes.
  • Operational Support: Assist the pharmacist on duty with daily operations, ensuring strict compliance with facility policies, TJC standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited Pharm.D. program (Graduation class of 2027–2029; P1 students eligible).

Licensure: Active or pending California Intern Pharmacist license.
