Scheduling:

  • Opportunity for part-time or full-time hours.

Responsibilities of a Cosmetologist:

  • Perform quality cosmetology services including hair, skin, makeup, and nail care tailored to each client's needs.

  • Deliver consistently positive client experiences and build trusting relationships.

  • Maintain accurate records of services and client preferences.

  • Keep workspaces clean, organized, and compliant with safety and infection control standards.

  • Monitor and report any unusual resident behavior or signs of abuse to appropriate personnel.

  • Manage salon inventory and proactively communicate supply needs.

  • Adapt services for clients with cognitive impairments, ensuring comfort and dignity.

  • Schedule and complete daily tasks efficiently and accurately.

  • Respect resident schedules and routines to minimize disruptions.

  • Participate in ongoing training and contribute to team improvements and innovations.

Requirements of a Cosmetologist:

  • The position requires flexibility and patience in working with a population affected by dementia.

  • (Required) Must be a licensed Cosmetologist in the state of Iowa

  • (Preferred) Manicure/pedicure experience

  • (Preferred) Previous cosmetology experience

  • (Preferred) Experience in senior living or with an aging population
