Job description

The Corrugated Machine Operator is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading a variety of industrial machines and equipment in our corrugated box manufacturing facility to include corrugator, boiler, conveyors, and various converting machines. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)


Essential Position Functions:

  • Sets up and operates machine to corrugate paperboard to form corrugated paperboard material for containers.
  • Positions rolls of paperboard on machine feed rack.
  • Inserts paperboard through feed, tension, corrugating and gluing rollers.
  • Fills glue reservoirs as needed.
  • Stack product in accordance with production master.
  • Monitor quality of boxes and report quality issues to Supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure correct bundle and unit counts.
  • Complete any necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure proper placement of unit tags and cover sheets and correct stacking patterns.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working for a Corrugate Manufacturer is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in a Corrugator or Converting department is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

  • Regularly required to walk and stand continuously for long periods of time.
  • Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to perform enhanced visual quality inspections needed to identify quality problems.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull/leverage up to 75 lbs.

Mental Demands

  • Regularly required to use written and oral communication skills.
  • Will interact regularly with managers and staff regarding building issues.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.

Work Environment

  • Employee works primarily in a manufacturing warehouse environment.
  • Excessive noise. Hearing protection is required and provided.
