What does a corporate security program manager do?

A Corporate Security Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing security strategies and programs to protect an organization’s people, assets, and information. They assess risks, coordinate with various departments, ensure compliance with security policies, and respond to incidents or threats. Their role often includes managing physical security systems, cybersecurity measures, and employee training programs. They also work closely with executive leadership to align security initiatives with business objectives.

Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems, access control technologies, and certifications like CISSP or CPP is typically required. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills help you coordinate teams and convey security priorities to stakeholders. These skills ensure effective protection of organizational assets, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional alignment in security initiatives.
