Job description

Responsibilities 

Job Overview: Reporting to the Director of Program Management, the program management team manages changes in product (new introduction or continual improvement of existing), process (innovations, business applications, ...) and strategic initiatives (localization, vertical integration, supply partnerships, new markets,...). The team applies product and business knowledge with financial acumen to advance the organizations goals for all of it's product portfolio.

 The Program Manager owns directing, coordinating and communicating with all Strattec functional groups to deliver program execution excellence to all customer functional groups and platform teams.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of assigned programs using the APQP-based, gated Product Development Process, PDP.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company as you interact with our customers and provide excellent program delivery services.
  • Facilitate the creation of a robust program statement of work and associated business plan.
  • Drive the program team to use product and business knowledge combined with financial acumen to continually improve the project schedule, profitability, and quality metrics. Achieve the 0-0-100-100-90 launch metric (0 safety incidents, 0 PPM, 100% on-time delivery, 100% financial goals, 90 days post start of production)
  • Lead internal and customer communication to ensure all program related deliverables and expectations are met. Primary program contact for customer management, voice to the customer, and ensuring that the needs of the customer are clearly heard within the Strattec organization.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure program information is tracked and released correctly, using the proper management systems. 
  • Hold monthly program reviews and scheduled gate reviews with the leadership team, escalating issues effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Achieve PM KPIs.
  • Support maintaining IATF16949:2016 and ISO14001:2015 certification.
Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant professional experience, in business, engineering, product/design development.
  • 6+ Years of automotive or relevant program management/coordination experience.
  • Automotive OEM experience (Ford and GM - desirable).
  • Knowledge of APQP-based, gated project management systems.
  • Business and financial acumen to build profitable product lines.
  • Strong customer orientation as a trusted, collaborative and productive partner.
  • Results and detail-oriented: holds self and others accountable for commitments.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, facilities, and equipment.
  • Expertise in problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis for continual improvement perspective.
  • Regional travel, up to 25% during launch period.
