Scope

Java House is seeking a UX/UI Designer to lead the strategy, design, optimization, and performance of our eCommerce experience. In this role, you’ll work in the eCommerce department to design and manage all digital experiences—across our D2C site, online marketplaces, landing pages, and checkout flows—with a sharp focus on conversion rate optimization (CRO), customer retention, and mobile‑first design.

You’ll collaborate closely with platform managers, developers, and marketing to create data‑driven, brand‑aligned designs that improve user experience and drive business results. This position blends hands‑on design work with strategic thinking, ensuring our web presence evolves with user needs and digital best practices.

This role is 100% in office at our corporate office in Carmel, IN.

Essential Duties UX/UI Design & eCommerce Optimization
  • Design and optimize webpages including homepage, landing pages, PDPs, cart, checkout, and subscription flows with a focus on usability and conversion.
  • Create user‑friendly layouts that highlight key information and guide users toward purchase or engagement.
  • Ensure mobile‑first, responsive, and fast‑loading designs across all devices and browsers.
  • Maintain brand consistency while pushing forward innovation in design and UX.
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)
  • Run A/B and multivariate tests to assess the impact of design decisions on conversion rates.
  • Analyze data using heatmaps, analytics tools, and session recordings to identify friction points.
  • Optimize site speed, form usability, and navigation to enhance funnel performance.
  • Personalize landing pages and user journeys based on segmentation or behavior insights.
Website Content & Marketplace Support
  • Design digital content for Amazon, Walmart, and other retail platforms based on company expectations.
  • Ensure eCommerce listings are accurate, visually engaging, and regularly updated.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement best practices across channels.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Interact routinely with internal and external partners including marketing, photography, copywriting, buyers, and retail teams.
  • Serve as design lead on cross‑departmental projects related to UX, branding, and performance marketing.
  • Act as a support resource for overflow creative tasks including print production, ads, and promotions.

  • Computer literacy including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), Figma, and/or Sketch
  • Experience designing for platforms like Amazon, Walmart, and Shopify
  • Understanding of HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Familiarity with CMS and eCommerce tools like Recharge, Klaviyo, and GA
  • A mix of creativity and analytical thinking with strong attention to detail
Physical Demands
