Job description

Position Summary


The Copywriter is a creative position, dedicated to crafting excellent original content. Copywriters will work with others to better understand project expectations, produce content with the needs of the client or employer in mind, participate in the brainstorming process, and conduct research to develop or support writing. Copywriters are critical and strategic thinkers, have exceptional writing and research skills, and have the ability to adapt to the varying needs of their clients. They should be open to feedback from supervisors, punctual, motivated and detail oriented.


Primary Focus

Develop copy in various mediums with direction from the Senior Copywriter or Creative Director.


Responsibilities

  • Writes copy from conception to completion for print, TV, video and online media that is strategically sound and on brand.
  • Think conceptually and strategically to solve our clients' business problems.
  • Collaborates with art directors and production on projects.
  • Participates in strategy design as needed.
  • Remains current on industry trends and technologies.
  • Works to incorporate SEO principles when applicable.
  • Thorough understanding of brand standards, including brand voice and style across assigned brands.
  • Develop in depth knowledge of clients' products and services, the target audience and their competitors' activities.
  • Thorough understanding of the market and science of assigned clients.
  • Conduct interviews with clients and industry experts.
  • Meets with and delivers presentations to clients whenever needed.
  • Be adept at juggling and able to create concepts and produce work for multiple clients at the same time, under pressure and on tight deadlines.
  • Adheres to internal processes for routing and approval
  • Maintains accurate timesheets that are completed by required deadlines.

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree (major in English, communication or similar field preferred; will consider equivalent education and relevant experience).
  • Demonstrated writing skills.
  • Strong communication, research and proofreading skills.
  • Creativity, resourcefulness, flexibility and motivation.
  • Ability to understand the needs associated with a project and the target audience.
  • Receptive to feedback.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Willingness to meet deadlines.
