Experienced Roofer - Learn Slate & Copper
About Durable Slate
Durable Slate is an award-winning roofing contractor specializing in slate, copper, and clay-tile roofing. Since 1986, we've built our reputation on exceptional craftsmanship, safety, and quality work.
We're looking for experienced roofers to join our team. If you already know roofing and take pride in doing the job right, we'll teach you the specialized skills needed to work with slate, copper, and other traditional roofing materials.
You don't need to be a slate or historic roofer to join us. We want good roofers who are ready to learn a specialized trade.
What You'll Do
  • Install/repair slate, clay tile, copper, and EPDM roofs
  • Learn specialized slate and copper roofing techniques through paid training
  • Maintain clean, safe, and professional job sites
  • Work with an experienced team to deliver high-quality craftsmanship
  • Travel to projects as needed, with paid travel time and travel support provided
What You'll Bring
  • 1+ years of roofing experience
  • Experience with any type of roofing is welcome
  • General knowledge of roofing installation, repair, and flashing
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and at heights using ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and other equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Pride in your work and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Slate, copper, or historic roofing experience is a plus-but not required. We'll train the right roofer.
Compensation
  • $23-$45+/hr. based on experience and skill
