Job description

Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is looking for Senior Electrical eCAD Engineers with strong Printed Wiring Board (PWB/PCB) design experience to support high-reliability aerospace and defense applications.

In this role, you will be responsible for the full PCB design lifecycle-including schematic capture, component placement, routing, and manufacturing documentation-using industry-leading tools such as Xpedition and BluePrint. You'll work in a highly collaborative environment, ensuring designs meet performance, cost, and producibility requirements across complex, multi-disciplinary systems.

Location: Tucson, AZ (relocation assistance provided)
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; Secret clearance (Active or obtainable)

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from conception to manufacturing 
  • Creation of the PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and Schematic drawings for suppliers 
  • Schematic Capture, Component Placement, Routing of Traces, Gerber/ODB++ file creation 
  • Utilize software such as Siemens: Xpedition Enterprise and DownStream Technologies: BluePrint-PCB 
  • Design layouts include Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex assemblies 
  • Work designs include full designs, re-spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper changes, and process improvement projects within and outside of discipline 
  • Daily interface with various engineering levels and engineering disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering to ensure overall design requirements are captured for cost, cycle time, and producibility 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
  • 5+ years of experience in PCB design, layout, or hardware development
  • Experience with PCB/CCA design and manufacturing principles
  • Hands-on experience with layout of rigid, flex, or rigid-flex boards
  • Active or obtainable Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Siemens Xpedition (Mentor Graphics) tool suite
  • Experience with BluePrint-PCB for documentation
  • Strong skills in schematic capture, routing, constraint management, and libraries
  • Experience with Gerber/ODB++ outputs and manufacturing release processes
  • Familiarity with DFM tools (Valor NPI, DRC tools)
  • Experience with RF PCB layout and high-speed design considerations
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics
