Job description

Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Practitioner accountable for a defined patient population. Functions as an expert practitioner, consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator, and researcher within a specialized area of practice. Provides patient care using the medical model within the scope of licensure and in accordance with applicable law, regulations, and VCH policies. Some positions may require being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed for hospital needs.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for a defined patient population.
  • Provide expert practitioner, consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator, and researcher roles within a specialized area of practice.
  • Deliver patient care using the medical model within scope of licensure and in accordance with applicable law, regulations, and VCH policies.
  • May be on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed for hospital needs.
  • Survive credentialing process through Medical Staff office via CIDP for appropriate scope, protocols, and privileges.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing (required).
  • Program: Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program (required).
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • BLS – Basic Life Support – AHA (required within 30 days of hire).
    • RN – Registered Nurse License – CA‑BRN (required).
    • NP – Nurse Practitioner License – CA‑BRN (required).
    • NP‑C – Nurse Practitioner National Certification – NCC (required within 6 months of hire).
  • Must successfully complete credentialing process through Medical Staff office via CIDP for scope of practice, written standardization protocols, and furnishing privileges (required).
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience (required).
Skills and Abilities
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
Compensation
  • Pay range: $68.90 – $111.00 per hour.
  • Shift: Day (Monday–Friday with schedule flexibility).
  • Position type: Exempt, FTE 60% (24 hours per week).
