About the Role:
The Litigation Paralegal plays a critical role in supporting our Litigation Department by managing case calendars, coordinating communications with clients and courts, handling e-filing and service of process, and serving as a key liaison between department leadership, associates, and attorneys across practice areas. This position involves drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, managing discovery, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations through administrative and case management support.  This is an in-person role in our Rockville Centre office.
Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
  • Calendar meetings, court appearances, depositions, deadlines
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court staff and other third parties as necessary
  • E-filing for state and federal courts
  • Oversee service of process
  • Act as liaison between Litigation Department head and department associates
  • Act as liaison between Litigation Department head and attorneys in other practice areas within firm
  • Assist with legal research
  • Draft legal documents
  • Handle discovery demands and responses
  • General administrative duties; filing and scanning; assembling litigation papers; maintaining matter files
  • In-person attendance at courthouses as necessary

Required:
  • Formal training and study as a paralegal ideal, minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • This position is full-time in office Monday-Friday.
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with e-filing and in person filings; both state and federal. Must be familiar with court house procedures.
  • Ability to problem-solve procedural and calendaring problems.
  • Experience with Clio a plus.

Salary Rage: 75k-95K
