Position Overview
This Faculty member teaches Botany courses.
Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes
What you will be doing
  • Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
  • Evaluates and advises students
  • Develops curricula
  • Maintains department standards
  • Recruits and participates in retention of students
  • Serves on committees
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
  • Master's Degree in Botany; or a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences (Cell Biology, Biology, Ecology, Evolution, Genetics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Parasitology, Plant Science) with 9 graduate semester hours in Botany; or a Masters Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Botany
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Preference will be given to applicants with (3) three years College level teaching experience
  • Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work well with students and colleagues
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekend assignments
