Cooling Tower Service Technician

Position Purpose

The Cooling Tower Service Technician role primarily involves installation and startup of new cooling towers including all parts along with trouble shooting, maintenance, repairs and emergency service on complex cooling towers and similar equipment. Typical work performed is removing and replacing fill media, replacing hot decks, and coating basins on installed cooling tower systems and installing all typical components of a new cooling tower. This position is based out of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Service Technician Job Skills
  • Diagnosing and repairing problems for cooling towers, fluid coolers and other similar HVAC equipment associated with large scale commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Safely and proficiently working from ladders, man-lifts and scaffolding as needed and required.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, battery powered tools, saws, and other tools as required.
  • Understanding of chill water systems including water flow, pumps, and valves.
  • Ability to work effectively as both part of a team and independently.
  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
  • Able to read schematics and diagrams for all cooling tower equipment.
  • Documents service and installation activities by completing work orders for each job, maintenance checklist and daily time sheets.
  • Maintains rapport with customers by addressing complaints and identifying solutions.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with established policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Independently manages daily business needs by identifying parts to order for repairs and determines the urgency of the requirement.
  • Keeps current on products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of cooling tower equipment and components.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours and travel, as required.
Qualifications
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e., Smartphone, iPad).
  • Valid Driver's License with no major traffic violations for the previous 5 years.
  • Must pass TAPS background check
Physical Requirements
  • Routine sitting, lifting, climbing, bending, and kneeling
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform job duties at required heights
