About the Role:

The Cook 1 position is a foundational culinary role responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards. This role ensures that all dishes are prepared safely, efficiently, and consistently to meet customer expectations and maintain the reputation of the establishment. The Cook 1 will work closely with kitchen staff to support daily food production, manage inventory of ingredients, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. This position plays a critical role in delivering a positive dining experience by contributing to timely meal preparation and presentation. Ultimately, the Cook 1 helps uphold food safety regulations and contributes to the overall success of the food service operation through dedication and attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or food service environment.
  • Certification in food safety or ServSafe credential.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and portion controls.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations, equipment, and utensils.
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure timely and efficient meal service during peak hours.
  • Monitor food quality and report any inconsistencies or issues to the kitchen supervisor.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures related to food preparation and safety.

Skills:
