Support Healing in the Kitchen as a Cook’s Assistant at Our Adult Psychiatric Hospital

Looking to grow your skills in a role that makes a difference? As a Cook’s Assistant, you’ll help prepare nutritious meals that support the wellness and recovery of adults in our psychiatric hospital. More than just food prep, this role offers the opportunity to assist in life-skills development for clients, contribute to special events, and play a vital role in a clean, organized, and recovery-focused kitchen environment.
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The schedule is Wednesday - Saturday, 40 hours weekly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and serving healthy, appealing meals to clients and staff
  • Maintain clean, sanitary kitchen and food prep areas
  • Support group or individual client instruction in basic food skills or healthy eating habits
  • Help document client participation in work therapy or skills training sessions
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team on food ordering and inventory
  • Prepare snacks and meals aligned with wellness and dietary goals


Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
High School/GED required
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in food production preferred
  • Ability to work within the facility as a team member and flexible to meet the needs of the facility and the clients we serve
