A Converting Machine is an industrial device used to process raw materials like paper, plastic, or foil into finished products such as packaging, labels, or wipes. These machines perform actions such as cutting, folding, laminating, printing, or rewinding materials to meet specific product requirements. Operators of Converting Machines ensure the equipment runs smoothly, adjust machine settings for different jobs, and perform routine maintenance. Converting Machines are commonly found in manufacturing, packaging, and printing industries, playing a key role in transforming bulk materials into consumer-ready goods.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a converting machine operator?

Job description

DRIVEN TO HUNT, BUILD, AND THRIVE.

MOST SALESPEOPLE WAIT FOR LEADS.

You go get them.

DuraServ is looking for a residential sales hunter — someone who wakes up knowing their number, hits the pavement before anyone else, and doesn't stop until the deal is closed.

Montgomery, AL (On-Site)This Is Not an Order-Taking Role. It's a Territory-Building Role.

As a Residential Sales Representative at DuraServ, you own an exclusive territory selling doors, openers, gates, and access solutions to homeowners and residential builders. You're not waiting on inbound leads or riding someone else's pipeline. You're building your own book of business from the ground up — with uncapped commission potential and the backing of an elite service team that delivers flawlessly once you close.

The residential channel is relationship-driven, referral-powered, and deeply loyal to the rep who shows up consistently and delivers on their word. That rep is you — or it will be, if you earn it.

If rejection sharpens your focus instead of breaking your stride — this role was built for you.

What You'll Do

Hunt

  • Aggressive Territory Prospecting — hit the ground daily with cold calls, door knocks, and in-person site visits to homeowners, residential builders, and contractors; you build the pipeline, nobody hands it to you
  • Market Intelligence & Brand Presence — know your market cold: builder relationships, competitor positioning, and local conditions; use that intelligence to influence purchase decisions and grow DuraServ's footprint in the residential channel

Build

  • Consultative Solution Selling — conduct on-site assessments to diagnose residential door, opener, gate, and access needs; translate what you find into tailored solutions that solve real problems and close fast
  • Relationship Development — turn every closed deal into the next one; build high-value relationships with homeowners, residential GCs, and home builders that generate repeat business and referrals on demand
  • Proposal & Quote Management — generate precise, technically accurate proposals using CRM tools with product specs, installation requirements, and service contract terms communicated clearly and closed quickly
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — partner with Service Technicians and Installation teams to ensure flawless delivery and convert every service call into a new sales opportunity

Thrive

  • Sales Cycle Ownership — manage the full process from first contact through close with a relentless bias toward speed and decisiveness; no deals die in your pipeline from inattention
  • Client Retention & Problem Resolution — own the relationship post-sale; when issues arise, handle them with urgency and professionalism — protecting the account, reinforcing trust, and earning the referral

Who You Are

You don't need a manager to tell you to make more calls. You don't need a warm lead to get started. And you don't lower your standard when the week is slow.

  • Hunter mentality — you don't wait for leads, you create them; prospecting isn't a task on your list, it's how you operate every single day
  • Persuasive communication — you build rapport fast, read the room, and know how to move a skeptical homeowner or builder from "not interested" to "where do I sign?"
  • Technical aptitude — you can walk a job site, read basic blueprints, and explain door, opener, gate, and access solutions in terms that make clients confident in the investment
  • Emotional intelligence — you pick up on what motivates people, navigate objections without ego, and convert satisfied customers into referral machines
  • Resilient optimism — rejection rolls off you; you reset, refocus, and move to the next opportunity without losing momentum or lowering your standard
  • Administrative accountability — your CRM is clean, your follow-ups are on time, and no opportunity falls through the cracks — ever

What We're Looking For
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of outside sales experience with a proven track record in residential construction, building products, home services, or related industries
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a cold territory into a productive book of business through self-directed prospecting and relationship building
  • CRM proficiency with the ability to manage lead pipelines, track activity, and generate accurate proposals using modern sales tools
  • Valid driver's license — you are in the field every day

What's in It for You

We don't believe in capping the earnings of people who perform. If you build the book, you earn accordingly. Period.

  • Uncapped commission — your effort sets your income, and there's no ceiling on what this territory can be worth
  • Exclusive territory — own your market; no internal competition, no shared leads, just your territory and your results
  • Vehicle allowance — you're in the field every day, we cover the road
  • Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and 401K with company match
  • Company-provided life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
  • Elite service team behind you — you sell it, they deliver it flawlessly
  • Autonomy and trust — freedom from micromanagement, backed by leadership that respects your expertise and gets out of your way

A Direct Note to the Right Candidate.

The residential channel rewards the rep who shows up consistently, builds trust with homeowners and builders over time, and earns referrals that keep producing long after the original deal closes. That's not a personality type — it's a discipline. And it's exactly what this territory rewards.

If you're ready to own a territory, build your pipeline from zero, and earn without a ceiling — we want to talk to you.

Driven to hunt, build, and thrive. This is where that drive pays off.

APPLY NOW — Territories Fill Fast.

Hit Apply. No long cover letters. Tell us what you've built and what territory you want to own next.
