Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Omaha, NE

Job Description

We are seeking a Controls Engineer with experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), Building Management Systems (BMS), and HVAC controls. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with DDC programming, system integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of commercial building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and configure BAS/DDC systems for commercial facilities.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation.
  • Develop control drawings and wiring diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
  • Select and configure controllers, sensors, actuators, valves, and other control components.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and optimize HVAC and building automation systems.
  • Support system startup, testing, commissioning, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field technicians, and customers throughout project execution.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and system records.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience with BAS, BMS, HVAC controls, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience programming DDC controllers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio for control drawings.
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of BAS networking, system integration, and HVAC controls.
  • Experience with one or more platforms such as Niagara/Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Distech, or Alerton.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
