Job description

T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. We're focused on building advanced American manufacturing and we're passionate about engineering a better future filled with abundant energy.

The Role

T1 Energy is looking to hire a Project Controls Engineer that will support in the management of construction schedules, cost tracking, reporting and document control to keep large-scale manufacturing and infrastructure projects structured and on track. Youโ€™ll work as an integrated part of the project engineering team; supporting engineering, procurement, construction. Reporting to the Project Control Director, you will be hands on in developing and maintaining project control systems to track project performance and provide data-driven insights to guide decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how projects run in the real world and knows how to balance rigor with speed.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Build and track project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls, including earned value and variance analysis.
  • Monitor schedule and cost performance, identify risks and trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain change control, including schedule impacts, cost impacts, and documentation.
  • Prepare clear, executive-ready reporting on schedule health, cost status, risks, and recovery plans.
  • Support contractor and vendor schedule reviews and progress validation.
  • Improve project controls processes, tools, and standards as the company scales.
Who You Are
  • Detail-oriented but not bureaucratic.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions when the data doesnโ€™t line up.
  • Organized, analytical, and calm under pressure.
  • A strong communicator who can translate numbers into insight.
  • Someone who takes ownership of outcomes, not just reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience from large capital projects within advanced manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
  • Hands-on experience building and managing schedules for complex projects using Primavera P6.
  • Experience in cost management during construction is a plus
  • Proficiency with scheduling and cost tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel).
The T1 Way

We move fast, expect accountability, and treat people with respect. We also have a no-jerks policy: we don't tolerate big egos, bad behavior or "thatโ€™s not my job attitude". Be sharp, be honest, be human. If you can hold the line and have a sense of humor, you'll fit right in.

T1 Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and applicants and do not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristics.
