About the Role:

Join our team at our Carrollton, TX facility, home to the production of refrigerated dough products. We are seeking a Controls Engineer to provide advanced technical support for control systems and automated production equipment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and optimizing control functionality, supporting capital projects, leading startup and commissioning activities, maintaining technical documentation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, reliability, and operational efficiency across the facility.

You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues involving installation, maintenance, and operation of control systems and automated production processing and packaging equipment.
  • Interface with Operations, Technical Services, and internal or external resources on design and operational issues.
  • Support implementation of operational and cost efficiency initiatives in automation driven by data analysis.
  • Lead or support problem-solving methodologies and root cause analyses to continuously improve processes.
  • Support training of peers, Operators, and Maintenance staff on control methods and processes.
  • Ensure technical solutions comply with company security practices and audit requirements in partnership with IT.
  • Provide technical support to capital project teams.
  • Support execution of startup protocols, including Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, commissioning, qualification, and verification.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, technical standards, and control system records related to job activities.
  • Support change management and backup procedures for automation programs and files.

  • This is a full-time, on-site role on first shift. Occasional flexibility may be required to support alternate shifts and weekends.
  • The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $106,700.00 - 160,100.00 USD annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics and business or organizational needs. You'll fit right in if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of controls experience in a manufacturing environment is required; consumer packaged goods or food/beverage experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, SCADA systems, and Ethernet/IP networks required.
  • Experience supporting large capital projects and equipment commissioning preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics, controls, mechanical and electrical components found in food manufacturing machinery and safety standards for food production equipment is required.
  • Hands-on technical experience with installation and repair of manufacturing and packaging equipment in a sanitary environment is required.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma techniques and tools are preferred.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is preferred; SAP Plant Maintenance knowledge is a plus.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, leadership, and analytical skills are required.
  • Experience creating, executing, and monitoring manufacturing technical standards and procedures is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
