We are seeking an Automation Controls Engineer with extensive experience Ignition development and integration, controls hardware and software engineering, machine automation, networking and manufacturing. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing processes, and the candidate shall have exceptional interpersonal, team and communication skills. The ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business requirements, with the ability to implement and optimize machine automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
What You Will Do:
  • Design, develop, and deploy complex Ignition SCADA systems for manufacture of hardware.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including Manufacturing engineering, Material handling, Quality, and Operations to define requirements and specifications.
  • Integrate Ignition systems with PLCs, HMIs, databases, and other control systems in manufacturing.
  • Configure Ignition software to meet specific project requirements, including developing custom scripts and templates.
  • Design and implement control systems, including PLC programming, hardware selection, and network configuration.
  • Develop and test software solutions for manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless communication and control.
  • Design, develop, and optimize machine automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Materials and Engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to new product implementation, automation systems and controls hardware.
  • Analyze processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements through collaboration of various teams in manufacturing.
  • Ensure all automation solutions comply with safety standards and best practices in manufacturing.
  • Ability to manage project timelines of work performed, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • This is a 2nd Shift Position (Evenings - weekdays). There is a shift differential that is associated with the compensation for this position.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience and a minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Extensive experience in developing and integrating Ignition SCADA systems. Strong expertise in controls hardware engineering, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and industrial networking.
  • Proven experience in machine automation within a manufacturing environment. Understanding of manufacturing processes and process optimization.
  • Proficiency in programming languages used in automation and control systems (e.g., Python, Java, Ladder Logic).
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of leading successful automation projects.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
