We are currently seeking a Project Controls Engineer specifically for our federal sector projects. This position involves supporting the planning, scheduling, and cost control activities essential for the successful execution of complex federal projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project controls and will be adept at collaborating with government clients and contractors to ensure compliance with federal project requirements.

Requirements

Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related AEC field.
  • Minimum 1 year of project engineering or construction management experience.
  • USACE CQM and OSHA 30 certifications required (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
  • Strong understanding of construction project management processes, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and change orders.
  • Experience with PMIS systems, project tracking logs, and document control.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Knowledge of federal construction procedures and quality control processes preferred.
Responsibilities / Duties
  • Review and track RFIs, submittals, permits, and contractor documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain project logs including RFIs, submittals, change orders, safety tracking, inspections, schedules, and risk registers.
  • Organize and manage project files, reports, meeting minutes, schedules, and contract documentation within PMIS systems.
  • Support project managers with schedule reviews, cost tracking, risk management, and project reporting.
  • Conduct field walks, inspections, and coordination with contractors, design teams, and client representatives.
  • Monitor contractor performance, quality control, safety compliance, and progress reporting.
  • Facilitate weekly coordination meetings and support communication between all project stakeholders.
  • Assist with monthly reports, leadership briefings, pay application reviews, and project look-ahead planning.
  • Help ensure project compliance with specifications, federal agency requirements, and construction standards.
