Job description

This position reports to:

Engineering Manager I

__

As a member of the Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization's assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety.

The work model for this role is onsite (#LI-Onsite) in our Albuquerque, NM manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain control systems, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Evaluates new manufacturing and control technologies. Adapting to specifications as appropriate.
  • Confirm controls system functionality, including appropriate safety compliance, by designing or executing test procedures.
  • Provide information to manufacturing, processes, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Keep equipment operating by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; implementing process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering or related field and a minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience with control systems, robotics, and automation.
  • Experience with ABB robotics preferred.
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to coordinate several projects
  • Must be able to work across three shifts when necessary.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
