Electrical Department Intern
Please Note: This is a full-time, on-site position located in Philadelphia, PA. Regular on-site attendance is an essential function of the role. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the work location or independently relocate prior to their start date. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Position Summary
The Electrical Department Intern will assist the electrical engineering and production teams while gaining hands-on experience in electrical manufacturing, testing, documentation, and production support. This role is designed to provide exposure to the daily workflow of the electrical department and develop practical skills in electrical systems, software tools, testing procedures, and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and support the daily workflow and processes of the Electrical Department.
  • Create, print, organize, and apply electrical labels, wire markers, and equipment identification tags using company software.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate electrical documentation and production records.
  • Support production activities by preparing materials, components, and assemblies for manufacturing and testing.
  • Assist technicians during electrical testing, troubleshooting, and verification activities.
  • Observe and participate in functional testing of electrical equipment and control systems under supervision.
  • Help organize tools, test equipment, and workstations to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform data entry and update project information within company software systems.
  • Assist with inventory management, material handling, and component identification as needed.
  • Support quality control efforts by verifying labels, documentation, and assembly requirements.
  • Complete miscellaneous department tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • Perform general housekeeping and organizational duties within the department.
  • Assist with other production and administrative tasks that contribute to overall departmental efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new software applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and assist with a variety of tasks.
