Job description

Bastian Automation is seeking a Mechanical Engineering student to fulfill an AGV Engineering Internship role for our Georgetown, KY location during the Summer of 2027.
Job Overview:
The Engineer Intern at Bastian Automation Inc. in Georgetown, Kentucky will learn and support Autonomous Vehicle solutions for our customers.
Job Functions:
  • Learn to design equipment with details necessary for customer acceptance.
  • Learn to create 2D drawings for manufacturing, including detailed bill of materials.
  • Learn and participate in internal and external customer reviews.
  • Learn product development and continuous product improvement.
  • Maintain and update existing 3D CAD data for our products. (Solidworks)
  • Reports to our Engineering Team Lead

Travel Requirements:
  • 10% travel (Travel expenses paid by Bastian Automation)

Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications :
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • Earning a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or other similar Engineering degree. It will be a plus if you some experience in electro-mechanical systems design/experience.
  • Must include some experience with:
    • Solidworks 3D design software;
    • Autocad 2D software;
  • Mechanical Engineering as it pertains to design and product development;
  • Possible limited travel to locations within our region to learn customer requirements.
  • Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.
