POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern for our Summer 2027 internship program!
U.S. Venture's Internship Program runs May - August 2027. Dates may vary based on individual class schedules. This position is located at our Corporate Office in Appleton, WI. Part-time work starting in January 2027 may be available depending on workload and the candidate's ability to accommodate.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As the Electrical Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Assist Engineering with developing HMI programs, using Wonderware and Cmore

  • Assist Engineering with troubleshooting and developing PLC programs using Studio 5000

  • Assist Engineering with maintaining SCADA systems

  • Assist Engineering with project startups and executing testing procedures

  • Create/update panel schedules

  • Create/update One Line Diagrams

  • Create/update Load analysis for new projects

  • Create/update wiring diagrams for new projects

  • Create/update Electrical Classification Drawings

  • Create/update Layout drawings for all new Electrical cabinets/boxes/panels

  • Organize share point files

  • Create spread sheet of all material, vendor, cost.

  • Create spread sheets of all material, devices, parts for each project

  • Assist the electrical team by helping execute new initiatives and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Actively pursuing a related degree program - Electrical Engineering, preference will be given to candidates studying Controls Engineering or Power and Energy Engineering
  • Ability to work full time over the summer months, with an option to work part-time during the school year
  • Ability to manage and lead a project or perform a function with limited supervision
  • Our electrical design program of choice is AutoCAD, so a basic working knowledge is preferable.
  • A working knowledge of programming PLCs and HMIs is preferred
  • Willing to occasionally travel to job sites to assist engineering
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, with an ability to learn new skills quickly
