Job description

Job Description
Job Description
A night on the floor

It’s 7:00 PM and your shift begins. A line goes down—an encoder fault on a servo. You open the panel, read the schematics, verify 24V control power, and trace the issue through an Emergency Stop circuit. Minutes later, you’re on a laptop, connected to an Allen-Bradley PLC over Ethernet with the correct IP address, checking inputs, serial comms, and drive status. AC and DC motors, variable frequency drives, thermocouples, and solid-state relays—all in a night’s work. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, you’ll thrive here.

About Novolex

Novolex manufactures food, beverage, and specialty packaging for foodservice, delivery and carryout, processing, grocery, retail, and industrial customers. Our sourcing and manufacturing expertise spans resin, paper, molded fiber, aluminum, and more—supporting 120 product categories, 250 brands, and over 39,000 SKUs.

Our sustainability vision

We advance sustainability through three pillars—our products, our operations, and our people—driving ambitious goals and initiatives across the business.

What you’ll tackle
  • Troubleshoot electrical, computer, mechanical, and pneumatic systems used in industrial manufacturing.
  • Interpret electrical prints and detailed wiring schematics.
  • Work on 24V, 120V, 240V, and 480V circuits, plus high-voltage power distribution up to 34.5KV, including grounding, transformers, breakers, fuses, and disconnects.
  • Support AC/DC motors and variable frequency drives.
  • Service servo motors and encoders.
  • Connect a laptop to various PLCs (Allen-Bradley) for troubleshooting, using Ethernet IP addressing and serial communication.
  • Maintain industrial temperature control systems—thermocouples, temperature controllers, solid-state relays, and heating elements.
  • Ensure integrity of industrial safety circuitry, including Emergency Stop circuits.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED plus 3–5 years related experience or qualified technical training/certification.
  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) in an electrical field preferred.
  • Ability to work a standard 12-hour, nonrotating night shift (7 PM–7 AM) and occasionally on scheduled days off as business needs require.
  • Able to obtain a Pactiv license to safely operate a forklift and a man lift as needed.
  • Consistently use required PPE and follow Pactiv safe work practices and OSHA regulations, including NFPA 70E.
  • Collaborative troubleshooting with internal and external partners.
