Controller

Role Overview

Stardom Employment Consultants is seeking a farming Controller to oversee the financial operations of a growing organization. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting for 10,000 acres of operations, strengthening internal controls, and providing actionable insights to support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, banking relationships, and compliance requirements.
  • Supervise, develop, and support accounting staff while promoting efficiency and accountability.
  • Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in farming, including controller or senior accounting leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; FAMOUS, advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of an organization.
  • CPA certification or public accounting experience is preferred.
