We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Financial Controller to oversee all financial aspects of our construction operations. This role is responsible for managing accounting functions, job costing, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of construction accounting practices and the ability to partner with project managers and leadership to drive financial performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll

·        Manage and maintain accurate job costing and project financial tracking

·        Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

·        Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost variances

·        Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial accuracy and accountability

·        Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry regulations

·        Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial controls

·        Lead audit processes and coordinate with external auditors

·        Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures

·        Supervise and mentor accounting staff

·        Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements

·        Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, and financial management

·        Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar ERP systems)

·        Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

·        Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

·        Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

·        High attention to detail and accuracy

·        Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain strong organizational effectiveness

Education and Experience:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

·        CPA preferred

·        5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry

Physical Requirements:

·        Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·        Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
