Job description

Job Summary

The Electrician is responsible for performing electrical work in control cabinets, panel boards, etc., wiring/rewiring of electrical cabinets and electrical components, running conduit, writing programs and install in PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).

DAY SHIFT - Occasionally On Call for Nights

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

  • Responsible for the installation of electrical hardware or software or the electrical wiring of selected devices in accordance with state and local codes.
  • Responsible for the electrical start-ups of new, used or modified equipment and generate new or modify existing operating instructions as it pertains to electrical items.
  • Aid and assist in the layout design of construction and troubleshooting of electrical components.
  • Perform calibrations on electrical components when needed. Responsible for the programming and installation of PLCs and the drawing of ladder logic diagrams to match such.
  • Keep work areas clean on a daily basis. (All wire, conduit, raceways, etc.) All should be stored in a clean, safe manner.
  • Responsible for company issued tools. (ex: benders, punches, labeler, drills, etc., are to be cleaned and stored when not in use)
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2-3 years Ladder Logic and programming of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
  • Prior electrical background required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman's license preferred.

Physical Demands

  • The position requires occasional lifting objects up to 100 lbs.
  • The position frequently requires movement in the full range of physical motion.
  • Occasional long hours required during change-outs/switch-over.
  • The position requires driving and flying on a regular basis to the jobsites.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in plant environments and/or in personal vehicle as required. Temperature will fluctuate depending on outside conditions.
