Job Summary
The Controller leads all accounting and financial reporting functions for a complex family office structure, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial stewardship across multiple entities. These skills will be used to:
  • Lead accounting operations across trusts, partnerships, LLCs, and nonprofit entities
  • Prepare quarterly consolidated and entity-level financial statements, including eliminations
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial and investment activity
  • Manage capital calls, distributions, and investment tracking
  • Oversee accounting systems, reporting processes, and operational infrastructure
  • Maintain and refine cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and liquidity oversight
  • Coordinate preparation and review of federal and state tax filings, extensions, estimates, and K-1 workflows
  • Prepare and issue annual 1099s and maintain compliance policies and internal controls
  • Enhance risk-mitigation practices and strengthen approval workflows
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience managing consolidated financial statements across multiple entities
  • Ability to build complex financial or operational models
  • Understanding of investment, partnership, and equity-method accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with tax filings, family office or private investment work, system conversions, or nonprofit/foundation structures

Physical demands and work environment:
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills (typing, writing, operating office equipment)
  • Ability to lift and carry approximately 20-25 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to sit for long periods with occasional reaching and standing
