Job description

Summary: Takes responsibility for all food and beverage areas during assigned shift. Assists Department Manager in hiring, scheduling, reviewing, seating, and implementing procedures and policies. Fills in for and assists all other employees when needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or credited courses in business or hospitality. Experience may be substituted for education requirements.
  • Minimum two years to four years' experience in food and beverage, with fine dining and extensive wine knowledge required.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of fine dining and exceptional guest service
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have knowledge of computers and info genesis P.O.S. systems.
  • Must be a motivator and demonstrate superior customer relations, must be able to coach, motivate and teach the team on a daily regular basis.
  • Interact with guests to ensure their dining needs are met, and swiftly resolve any requests.
  • Conduct regular wine tastings and training sessions so servers and sommeliers understand flavor profiles.
  • Work the floor during busy dinner shifts to ensure service flows smoothly.
  • Must be 21 years of age

License Requirement(s):

  • Class III; WSLCB Class Mast Permit; Food Worker Permit

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages the department on assigned shift, including administrative and secretarial work, interviews, and maintaining products, supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulations regarding health and safety for employees and customers.
  • Gives superior customer service at all times.
  • Ensures food quality and quantity in food service areas.
  • Trains subordinates.
  • Delegates work and cleaning duties
  • Prepares daily reports.
  • Makes recommendations to improve menu offerings, service, and procedures.
  • Monitors food temperatures and times on precooked food.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork
  • Capable of lifting 25 lbs.
  • Standing or walking for long periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment with occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
  • Work in close spaces while working with others.
  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Will be exposed to food odors.
  • Stand on tile, mats.
  • Hazards: chemicals, equipment blades, hot food, wet floors, knives.
