We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant-Commercial to partner with our Assistant Controller in ensuring timely and accurate accounting and financial records for a portfolio of commercial and residential entities. You'll be challenged every day while building lasting skills grounded in trust, integrity, respect, and excellence. This in-office role at our Calabasas corporate office is a great opportunity for a skilled professional to grow their career.

Salary range for this position is $48-53/per hr. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as the candidate's experience and qualifications.

What You will do
  • Manage commercial/residential property accounting, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Preparation of monthly budget variance reports/explanations.
  • Prepare journal entries, variance reports, owner draws, and financial reports.
  • Monitor cash balances, disbursements, deposits, and debt payments.
  • Prepare tax filings, projections, property tax payments, and 1099 support.
  • Partner with property managers, accounting staff, owners, lenders, and investors.
  • Track all common area expenses incurred.
  • Preparation of common area maintenance reconciliations and tenant bill-backs.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and enforcement of operational accounting policies and procedures for the commercial properties.
What You Bring:

Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in property management accounting, specifically commercial/residential or a similar specialized environment.

Software Proficiency:Advanced skills in Yardi Voyager or property management software, and Microsoft Office.

Communication:Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaborate effectively with team members.

Time Management:Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
