Description:

BLS, one of the largest and most established certified public accounting firms in Delaware, is seeking an Accounting Generalist to support the Controller and Treasury, including providing financial accounting and bookkeeping functions for the Firm, and client billing, accounts receivable, and collections.

Requirements:

Job Duties Include:

  • Supports the Firm's billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
  • Engages in client communications for billing and collections as needed
  • Regularly maintains detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts
  • Provides detailed analyses and answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data and individual transactions
  • Assists the Controller in preparing accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness, and consistency with defined standards
  • Learns and follows the Firm's established accounting processes
  • Developments and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
  • Protects the Firm's value by keeping information confidential
  • Supports client accounting services engagements, as needed or requested by management

Other Qualifications Include:

  • Associate's degree in accounting and/or Bookkeeping Certification
  • 3-5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, in a public accounting environment, a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (above average Excel) and accounting and practice management software, with experience using Quickbooks, MS Dynamics, and CCH Axcess Practice, a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
