Job description

We are seeking a Business Controller for 3D-P and NASA Connect to play a key role in ensuring financial rigor, strategic financial alignment, and value realization in line with the DSD Strategy. This is a senior role being hands-on and strategic which blends financial expertise with business acumen, analytical insight, and change management skills. The Business Controller will partner closely with the NASA Connect Business Manager, DSD finance and Epiroc Connect management, to ensure accurate reporting across 3D-P entities and realization of synergies. The role will help execute on the DSD Connect strategy from a finance perspective whilst safeguarding and improving 3D-P results.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Business Partnering

  • Business Controlling of the three legal entities in 3D-P (Canada, US and Australia)
  • Work together with local controller in the above-mentioned countries and DSD Finance to execute on legal entity rationalization, starting with Australia.
  • Manage the transition of Accounting to Reporting and Trade Payables to the Regional Centre of Excellence and ensure that all objectives are achieved.
  • Provide recommendations to optimize profitability for 3D-P and mitigate financial risks.
  • Be a strategic finance business partner to local management and the NASA Connect Business Manager.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial reporting in 3D-P to improve predictability and responsiveness.

People Management Focus

  • Build and maintain a high-performing team based on high quality leadership, professional and competent people and an open and action-oriented culture, which can meet present and future customer expectations.
  • Develop your team competence to secure succession and a financial leadership pipeline for the organization.
  • Safeguard that the team respects and lives up to the Core values of Epiroc.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and feedback within your team and the overall organization.
  • Be the site manager for 3D-P in Calgary and ensure that policies, safety guidelines and governance are followed

 

 

Control, Governance & Compliance

  • Secure the internal control environment in the organization and assume responsibility of ICFR testing.
  • Work together with the DSD finance team in preparation for reporting in Tagetik consolidation system.
  • Ensure compliance with group policies, IFRS/local GAAP requirements, and internal control frameworks.
  • Ensure that the Epiroc Investment Process is followed and aligned with prokuras and financial reporting.

Management Reporting & Analysis

  • Work together with NASA Connect Business Manager to prepare for Monthly Review Meetings with DSD division.
  • Monitor and analyze consolidated KPIs, consolidated gross profit, adjustments to cost of sales and functional cost and proactively develop efficiency measures together with local management.
  • Work together with integration controller in DSD to ensure that ISR reporting is performed timely for 3D-P.
  • Support business transformation efforts decided by DSD divisional management through financial modelling, benefit tracking, and risk assessment.

Cost Control & Profitability Analysis

  • Review of product cost, functional cost, as well as profitability analysis of products across 3D-P
  • Work together with DSD Sales & Operations on pricing and necessary preparations in master data
  • Identify and drive cost optimization opportunities without compromising business performance.
  • Drive cost control and adherence to plan to ensure overall functional cost efficiency in 3D-P entities.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Business Administration or Finance
  • 7+ years of experience in controlling, FP&A or similar, preferably in an international matrixed organization.
  • Dedicated and inspirational leader who believes safety should always be the top priority and the customer should be at the center of every conversation.
  • Strong technical understanding of P&L management, cash flow, and balance sheet dynamics
  • Experience in ERP Sage 300, ECS-reporting (or Tagetik) and advanced Excel skills are considered an advantage.
  • Strong English proficiency and ability to work effectively across teams and regions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills to partner effectively across functions and geographies
