As an Outside Sales Representative at Swanson Flo's Pewaukee, WI location, you will establish contact with existing customers, identify new opportunities, and follow up on potential leads across industrial, municipal, and process industry accounts in eastern Wisconsin. You will monitor industry trends to identify emerging markets, develop plans to expand revenue, and serve as a long-term value-added partner to customers who depend on quality process instrumentation, flow control valves, and actuation systems to keep their operations running.

What You'll Do

Grow Your Territory

  • Achieve sales goals by retaining existing customers and actively developing new business across industrial, municipal, and process industry accounts in eastern Wisconsin.
  • Research local markets to identify emerging opportunities, new target accounts, and competitive activity โ€” staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Initiate sales calls with customers in industrial applications of all kinds; deliver presentations highlighting the features and benefits of recommended solutions.
  • Build rapport with customers and develop a deep understanding of their core business and profit drivers.

Sell Solutions

  • Provide strategic recommendations, pricing, and customized solutions for process instrumentation, flow control valves, actuated valve assemblies, and related products to meet individual customer needs.
  • Prepare and deliver product and service quotations; negotiate terms and close transactions on both standard products and complex application solutions.
  • Oversee delivery, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems to ensure customers achieve the results they expect.
  • Work with OEMs, engineering, and technical staff to clarify customer needs and develop accurate specifications.

Own the Pipeline

  • Record all account, contract, and sales activities in CRM on a daily basis.
  • Monitor industry trends and develop plans to capitalize on emerging markets and expand territory revenue.
  • Develop and maintain successful long-term customer relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
What We're Looking For

Must Have:

  • 3 to 5 years of results-oriented outside sales experience with a track record of hitting and exceeding targets.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of assembly, fabrication, power units, lubrication systems, and electrical controls.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategies to enhance market share.
  • Excellent communication skills with strength in customer presentations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office 365; proficiency with CRM platforms (Microsoft Dynamics or similar) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team with a strong work ethic and desire to meet customer needs.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in industrial sales โ€” process instrumentation, flow control valves, actuation systems, or related products.
  • Experience reading building blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical diagrams.
  • Associate's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field.
  • Established customer relationships in eastern Wisconsin's industrial or municipal markets.
