Job Summary: The Fabrication Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all production and manufacturing operations within the Fabrication Department-Hydro Sidney's largest department, consisting of approximately 150+ employees.

This role ensures operational efficiency, product quality, and adherence to safety standards while
driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Fabrication Manager will also lead the development and implementation of new or enhanced production processes to support cost-effective, high- quality mass production. This position offers strong opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the organization.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or managerial experience.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience implementing safety programs and quality control systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience optimizing plant layout and manufacturing flow.
  • Knowledge of production sequencing and tooling design processes.
  • Familiarity with process testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
    methodologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering teams on product and process design.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance in manufacturing environments.

 What you will be doing 

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of fabrication professionals, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Plan and execute production schedules to meet customer requirements while optimizing labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and other departments to improve workflows and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards by monitoring output, conducting inspections, and driving corrective actions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including Lean initiatives, to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Promote and enforce safety standards, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
  • Track and report key performance metrics, maintaining accurate production records and providing insights to leadership.
