THE OPPORTUNITY


We are searching for a Quality Control Coordinator to join our growing operation in New Iberia, LA. The role of the Quality Control Coordinator is to oversee and maintain an ISO 9002 certified quality management system (QMS,) implement continual quality improvement efforts throughout the organization, monitor product workflow, and the efficiency of the overall QMS program to ensure the utmost in customer satisfaction.


YOUR CONTRIBUTION

  • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
  • Devise and review specifications for products or processes
  • Create and implement changes to improve current processes and reduce costs
  • Oversee all product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
  • Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements
  • Monitor the product workflow and perform periodic Quality Control checks
  • Inspect fabrication work and perform periodic checks to ensure conformity to project requirements
  • Implement improvements to production processes that lead to overall increases in product quality
  • Work in conjunction with production department and project managers to discuss solutions for quality issues
  • Complying with ISO accreditation requirements
  • Collaborate with management and production staff to achieve most efficient and accurate quality assessments
  • Train staff in proper quality practices and basic quality assessment
  • Assist Production Manager in administering quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports required to detect production problems
  • Develop and implement QMS initiatives to achieve a continuous improvement environment
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures; identify and report any safety issues
  • Complete training requirements identified by Louisiana Cat to earn and maintain job specific training certifications as required

MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • REQUIRED: Bachelor of Science Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or Business Administration preferred, or equivalent industry experience
  • REQUIRED: Minimum of 3 yrs experience maintaining certified ISO 9001 QMS
  • REQUIRED: Minimum 2 yrs experience working in a production environment or similar experience
  • REQUIRED: Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • HIGHLY PREFERRED: Excellent communication skills
  • HIGHLY PREFERRED: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill
  • HIGHLY PREFERRED: Strong knowledge of calibration and ability to read blueprints
  • HIGHLY PREFERRED: Knowledge of fabrication and processes
  • HIGHLY PREFERRED: Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills
