This position works with supervisor to review and assign RSS inspection requests to identify the best internal or external resource(s) to perform the required work and performs certain tasks appropriate for their level of technical expertise.
Performs and/or reviews surveys with guidance from senior staff. Attends industry events and training to enhance subject matter knowledge. Performs various RSS tasks at the request of supervisor. Collaborates on internal RSS initiatives.
Provides loss control engineering expertise, to enable loss control to meet its customer and corporate goals.
Job requirements:
  • Provides loss control engineering expertise, to enable loss control to meet its customer and corporate goals.
  • Support underwriting and business development efforts through customer visits and consultation
  • Performs and/or reviews multiple types of loss control surveys including desktop surveys, on-site surveys, and phone surveys
  • Reviews and assigns inspection requests to identify the best internal or external resource(s) to perform the required work
  • Manages and maintains high quality deliverables including reviewing vendor reports for quality and accuracy
  • Maintains current knowledge of federal, state and local regulations as they relate to the environmental and energy industries.
  • Maintains current knowledge and ability to train in E&E-related subject areas.

• Manages workload and maintain documentation for tracking work requests
• Assists in managing vendor program and evaluating vendor quality
• Assists in managing service accounts
• Be knowledgeable in Risk Solution Services (RSS) guidelines and procedures
• Provides access to guidance documents and materials to internal and external customers
• Other tasks as needed to support RSS quality and growth initiatives
Education:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in an environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field from an accredited four-year college or institution.

Preferred Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years combined documented environmental consulting and/or E&E loss control/risk management experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance coverage and exposures, as well as strong experience working in a risk engineering or claims function
  • Performed due diligence and subsequent engineering investigation activities for industrial, commercial, and residential properties
  • Managed E&E projects involving evaluating site conditions, managing response actions, designing and operating remedial strategies at impacted sites
  • Experience should show trend of job enlargement with continuing expansion of loss control and/or claims management and operations responsibilities
  • Experience using artificial intelligence (AI) and other tools to optimize efficiencies in tasks and processes

Pay information:
The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The national average salary range for the Risk Solution Specialist is $74,320 - $102,190 with 12% incentive.
