Full job description
The Infection Control-Employee Health Nurse role is responsible for the overall surveillance, detection, prompt identification and coordination of the response to threats related to infectious processes and threats from potential infectious agents.
Ensure current information from Center for Disease Control (CDC) related to infectious diseases and any potential threats are monitored and disseminated to ensure health concerns are addressed promptly to maintain the well-being of patients and staff via surveillance, risk assessment and mitigation plan outlined in the Infectious disease manual and Infection Control Risk Assessment Report.
The Nurse is responsible for staff and patient education related to infection control, regulatory bodies standards compliance for infection control outlined in the Joint Commission and DHEC manuals, is responsible for coordinating with maintenance to ensure notification of all construction within the facility and ensure that building and life safety standards are implemented in accordance TJC guidelines.
The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for the management of employee health, to include assessment of staff with work related injuries, pre-employment screenings and urine drug screens, collaborate with Medical Director, Pharmacy and leadership to ensure timely adherence to Flu vaccine for patients and staff ensuring education and plan for vaccine administration, declinations are address based on regulatory guideline and policy.
The individual in this position will maintain complete privacy and strictest confidentiality of all staff health information.
Any concerns or issues that need to be shared with must be done through Human resources who will decide additional notification as needed.
The nurse is responsible for all employee health education information.
