Overview
Radius Systems LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Security Installation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining a variety of security systems across multiple client sites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in diverse environments, utilizing technical expertise in low voltage systems, networking, and mechanical installation. The Security Installation Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of security, access control, and intercom systems while providing exceptional field service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assures adherence to company and customer safety policies and procedures, supports company vision, mission, and goals, and complies with standards of conduct and appearance.
  • Installs all conduit, wire, fittings, hangers, enclosures/panels, or other devices associated with BAS, Security, or lighting systems.
  • Terminates and labels all panels, controllers, communication wiring, input/output wiring.
  • Assists when required with panel fabrication.
  • Maintain working knowledge of required troubleshooting tools, including ALC devices, DMM, handheld instrumentation/meters, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge and skills related to BAS controllers, input/output devices, valves and actuators, dampers and actuators, and other parts used in systems installed.
  • Provide 24-hour service availability by on-call rotation.
  • Maintain required paperwork and electronic data entry to document work performed.
  • Assist in providing hardware and software analysis, troubleshooting, and repair for ALC, security, and lighting systems.
  • Reads and interprets construction drawings, and Radius Engineering submittals, and performs all conduit/wiring layout for project.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, commissioning and startup of building automation, lighting, and security systems.
  • Works effectively with other site trades to maximize cooperation and efficiency of installation work.
  • Maintain knowledge of current NEC requirements and assures compliance with latest NEC Code Book.
  • Safeguards and maintains equipment, tools, and vehicles.
  • Assures that quality and productivity meet company and customer standards.
  • Complies with standards of conduct and appearance so as to reflect positively on company image.

SKILLS/EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma plus 4-year state-certified electrical apprenticeship program
  • Minimum 4 years electrical installation experience, including state issued Journeyman’s License
  • Working knowledge of windows-based PC’s, including OS, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain information about products
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer interface and human relations skills
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing schedules and priorities
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Fluent ability to work with laptops, tablets, smartphones
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, control systems, and installation practices
  • Valid state driver’s license
